Kynd Independent Product · 2026

A social network for volunteering.

I built Kynd around a simple idea: finding something meaningful to do should feel more like discovering it through your community than searching a directory.

The Kynd Home screen. The feed shows Maya Ellis is volunteering above a Weekend Meal Packing Shift hosted by Mosaic Meals Collective, with the date, location, two and a half hours, Maya Ellis plus 2 others going, and 37 of 40 spots open.
Kynd Discover, showing opportunities happening this weekend around Atlanta with photos, hosts, times, distances and how many spots are open.

Why I built it

Finding a place to volunteer is more fragmented than it should be.

Opportunities are scattered across nonprofit websites, social posts, work, school, and word of mouth.

I kept coming back to a simple question:

If I wanted to do something meaningful this weekend, where would I actually look?

Traditional

  1. Organization
  2. Opportunity
  3. Volunteer

Kynd

  1. Person
  2. Community
  3. Opportunity
  4. Participation
  5. History

What I took away

Social discovery should lead to action.

Contribution should feel like history, not a score.
